“Jesus” is a hidden name; “Christ” is a revealed name. That is why “Jesus” is not particular to any language — he is always called by the name Jesus. But “Christ” in Syriac is Messiah, and in Greek it is Christ; certainly all the rest have it in their own tongue.

“The Nazarene” is the one who reveals what is hidden.
